Terms of Service

What the service does

You describe a book in a conversation, optionally upload photographs as visual references, and we use artificial intelligence to write the story and draw its illustrations. You can then edit the result and order it as a digital file.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or make a purchase. The service is intended for adults making books, including books for children to read.

What you upload

You keep ownership of the text and photographs you provide. You confirm that:

• You have the right to upload what you upload.
• If a photograph shows another person, you have their permission, or you are the parent or legal guardian of the child shown.
• You will not upload anything unlawful, hateful, sexual, violent, or designed to impersonate someone.

You grant us permission to process, store, and transmit your content to the providers described in our Privacy Policy for the sole purpose of producing your book and providing the service to you. We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models.

We may remove content and suspend accounts that breach these terms.

What you get back

Subject to these terms, the story text and illustrations generated for your book are yours to use, including for personal and commercial purposes.

Two honest caveats. First, generated material is produced by artificial intelligence: it may contain errors, oddities, or similarities to other work, and you should read your book before sharing or printing it. Second, the legal status of copyright in AI-generated material differs between countries and is still settling; we make no promise that you can register copyright in it.

Payment

Creating an account and building a book are free. Some features, such as downloading a finished book, are paid. Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never receive your full card details.

When you pay, we illustrate every remaining page, draw a back cover, and produce a PDF of the finished book. We email it to you and it stays downloadable from your book's page.

Because the book is generated specifically for you, purchases are non-refundable once that PDF has been produced and sent. Before then, ask us and we will refund you.

If the book fails to finish, comes out wrong, or never arrives, contact us. We will re-render it or refund you — your choice. That is not a discretionary favour; it is what you paid for.

If you live somewhere with a statutory right to cancel digital purchases, that right is yours and nothing here removes it. By buying and having the book produced immediately, you are asking us to start straight away.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service, and do not use automated means to create accounts or generate content at scale. Generation costs us money on every request, and we may rate-limit or suspend accounts that abuse it.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as-is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Custom Storybook is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Ending your use

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing kbantadevelopment@gmail.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Changes and governing law

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and disputes will be handled by the courts there.
